thigh high.

Photography courtesy of Phong Chau of Memory Box.

I wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago to dinner with a few of my favorite people.  Thai Gourmet (aka Tiger Main) is one of the best Thai restaurants in Houston, I highly recommend it!  Definitely try the crab fried rice, you will not regret it.  This dress was from one of my favorite thrift shops.  It was one of those, oh, I don't know, it's a tad big on the hanger, probably won't work, but I'll try it on just in case.  I'm extremely happy that I did because this dress is on heavy rotation.  It's loose enough so I can eat without a care but structured so I don't look like a slob.  My favorite part is the utility loop by my lower left pocket (for hammer storage of course, duh).  These boots had been sitting in my closet for about a month before they saw the light of day.  I love that my dress skims the top of the boots which keep me from looking like a hooker lady of the night.

Chambray Dress:  thrifted, try Tippi Denim Dress from Club Monaco.  Boots:  Danica Boot from bebe (not available online, try DSW).  Watch:  Men's Fossil Watch (also seen in striped).  Leather Cuff:  bebe (also seen in striped).  Bracelet:  bebe (try the Crystal Parallel Bracelet from BaubleBar).  Parfume Necklace:  old (also seen in sequin a good time).

redbull.

Hello my little friend!

I really like the chunkiness of the gunmetal chain against the (although thick) slightly more feminine clear necklace.

It's a hundred degrees and I'm wearing leather.  Go figure.  Actually, in such a loose fit piece as this circle skirt I'm not actually suffering.  The loose structure of the skirt actually allows for air to circulate.  If you didn't already know, natural materials (leather and silks for example) are more breathable.  So although it's leather, it's much cooler than polyurethane.  With this look I wanted to mix media (hence the necklaces) and mix prints.  Although the print in my belt and handbag are different, it works because its in the same color families.   Thanks for reading!

Leather Circle Skirt:  bebe.  Marl Crop Top:  Zara:  Shoes:  also see on sequin a good time.  Belt:  old, try Zebra Pony Hair Belt from Lucky Brand.  Handbag:  also seen on fringe.  Chain necklace:  old, try Chunky Ice Chain Necklace from Bauble Bar.  Clear necklace:  old, try Beaded Statement Necklace from Mariana Fossati.  Bracelet:  old, try Curb Bracelet from Bauble Bar.

watt just happened.

Are you ready for some football?  I sure am!  The new season just kicked off and I could not be more excited!  Oddly, I didn't like football until a few years ago.  It was just so complicated and barbaric and just not for me.  The tide started turning when I realized my favorite Sundays were spent taking several naps with the game on.  Eventually, I started following along and now I actually enjoy the game! Full disclosure:  Tom Brady doesn't hurt either (Don't judge me)!  For this look I wanted it to be an easy transition from desk to game.  By just simply switching your blouse to a jersey, you are ready for Monday Night Football!

Here I am sporting JJ Watt of the Houston Texans jersey.  He was the Defensive Player of the Year for 2012.  As I moved to Houston this year, I will always support my home team.  However, love them or hate them, I was born and raised in Dallas and will always be a Cowboys fan!  Stay tuned to see how I style my Cowboys gear this football season!

JJ Watt Jersey:  NFL Shop.  White Leather Skirt:  also seen on scotch on the rocks.  Sweatshirt Blazer:  old, try Demension Danza Blazer on Yoox.  Gold Pumps:  also seen on sweet.  Opal Galatic Earrings:  also seen on diane and bauble bar.  Spike Clutch:  also seen on wind blown.

wind blown.

Photos via Phong Chau of Memory Box.

We snapped these photos before heading out to dinner for Houston Restaurant Weeks.  If you couldn't tell, this day was really windy!  You can see my blouse and hair blowing in the wind and I think it gives the photos a nice effect.  I was a tad overdressed (not the first time, or the last) and we tried Brooklyn Athletic Club here in Houston and the food was really good! The mac n' cheese, crab cake and my perfectly cooked steak was divine and I will surely have to return.  I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend, and thank you for stopping by!

Blouse:  also seen on i left my heart on the wall.  Floral Scuba Skirt:  bebe.  Shoes:  also seen on green machine and diane.  Petit Crescent Pendant Necklace:  Bauble Bar.  Zoe Embellished Clutch:  bebe.  Wrapped Geometric Ring:  bebe.
